We are honored to bring you Dr. Jennifer Hutton (aka Dr. JPop) to the Meet Your Body podcast! Dr. Hutton is a pediatric physical therapist and has been treating kids with neurological and orthopedic diagnoses for more than 14 years. Working with children from marginalized communities allowed Dr. Hutton to see the health and healthcare access disparities that exist and sparked her desire to be an advocate for kids and movement. She recently released an activity deck called the Get a Movin' Activity Deck for Kids that allows kids of all different movement abilities to have fun while experiencing movement!
In 2020 Dr. Hutton founded Building Allyship, a membership space designed for committed humans on the quest to become effective allies for BIPOC in the health and fitness communities.
In today's episode, we hear from Dr. JPop about how she became a pediatric physical therapist and what led her to become passionate about recreational movement for all kids. We will also dive into what it looks like to be a true ally and steps we can all take today to help us on that journey.
