We welcome back Kathryn & Elizabeth from The Binary System Podcast for a discussion of Stephen King's book and Stanley Kubrick's movie, The Shining. Spoilers abound, so don't say we didn't warn you!
We watch a 1986 "gem" starring and directed by b-movie icon Fred Williamson. Co-starring Cameron Mitchell and a bunch of people you've never heard of, this confusing mess of a film is a standard revenge action piece set in Italy and the US.
Welcome to part 2 of our post holiday catch-up! In this episode, we discuss AI generated music, a handful of movies, rag on the Snow White remake, and discuss The Day the Clown Cried (bet you didn't see that coming!)
For our first get together after the Holidays, we had an unscripted (i.e. rambling) discussion about whatever came to mind. Needless to say, it went on for awhile, so here's the first part where we discuss the movie Bad Boys, Sean Connery films, The Rock's Red One, our Christmas presents, Popeye, and more!…
Our first time watching this stinker! Experience the "joy" of the season. Watch the movie along with this on our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/YE302Ucp1ls?si=xU_epAv28bfpqSh9
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! Since it the season, we picked a Christmas themed movie to review. It's 1989's Elves, which stars Grizzly Adams himself, Dan Haggerty, and no one else you've ever heard of. It's about Nazi's trying to breed a race of super elves. I wish I was making that up.…
For this episode, we watched Robowar, a Predator/Robocop mashup with a dash of Rambo thrown in for good measure. Starring Big McLargehuge himself, Reb Brown, and a bunch of other people you've never heard of. Features machine guns being fire indiscriminately, lots of walking in the jungle, and a robot with a chicken foot on its head.…
For our Halloween edition of Trash For the Masses, we watch and discuss an infamous Evil Dead ripoff from 1990 called Demon Wind. It stars no one you've ever heard of and it's main feature is confusion.
Tired of the hearing the same old spooky music at Halloween? We made a playlist of more obscure tracks to liven up your trick or treating! Listen along at: YouTube: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEUj-kefDUkLHymnBzyX2hOT7rMrNc3An&si=le1V8rEDJqiohDLr Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4VII1RKGoiCRO0MlSJgkym?si=-7akl5QdR0WHkjGOvPZ3og…
For our latest deep dive into a good movie, HAP picked 2013's Coherence. It's about a group of friends at a dinner party who experience strange things when a comet passes over. SPOILER WARNING: It's not possible to discuss this film without spoiling it. Go watch it if you're curious, then come to hear us talk about it. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2866360/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1…
We're back from a brief, illness induced hiatus with a review of another bad movie, Lucio Fulchi's 1983 barbarian "epic", Conquest. Stars one of the scientists from MST3K's Werewolf (Wahrwulf) and features lots of smoke and walking. Oh, and giant Yorkshire terriers and boobs!
Welcome back to Trash for the Masses! This time we take on 1987's "Tough Guys Don't Dance", starring Ryan O'Neal, Isabella Rossellini, Wings Hauser, and Lawrence Tierney. It was written and directed by Pulitzer Prize winning author Norman Mailer, who should have stuck to writing. Words cannot describe the incomprehensible plot and awkward dialog in this film! Also the source of the "OH GOD, OH MAN, OH GOD, OH MAN" meme. There will not be a commentary track for this one. Most of it was long stretches of silence followed by, "what is going on here" comments. We were completely at a loss for words at how bad this film was!…
Haven't had a chance to edit any of our recent recordings, so here's a classic episode from the first run of our podcast. It's from 2014 and we discuss then current events, celebrities in surprising roles, and review the Rudy Ray Moore magnum opus, The Human Tornado. This became the bad movie by which all other bad movies were judged!…
We welcome back David Leninhawk for a discussion of Roman Polanski's classic neo-noir, Chinatown. Starring Jack Nicholson, Faye Dunaway, and John Huston, this story of murder and corruption and in 1930's Los Angeles won the Oscar for Best Screenplay.
Welcome to the conclusion of our The Hoff, Dudikoff, and the Paper Chase guy trilogy! Today, we watch and discuss Three Kinds of Heat, a 1987 turd from Cannon Films. Features Robert Ginty (The Paper Chase Guy, also the best actor in the film, believe it or not), two Doctor Who alums (Sylvester McCoy, the 7th Doctor, and Mary Tamm, the first Romana), one of the worst actresses we've ever seen in a movie, and racism. Oh, the racism!…
Nicholas Cage, Donald Pleasance, Lance Hendricksen. They're great actors, but they frequently appear in terrible movies.
