We’ve turned intuition into a buzzword—flattened it into a slogan, a gut feeling, or a vague whisper we don’t always know how to hear. But what if intuition is so much more? What if it's one of the most powerful tools we have—and we’ve just forgotten how to use it? In this episode, I’m joined by Hrund Gunnsteinsdóttir , Icelandic thought leader, filmmaker, and author of InnSæi: Icelandic Wisdom for Turbulent Times . Hrund has spent over 20 years studying and teaching the science and art of intuition through her TED Talk, Netflix documentary ( InnSæi: The Power of Intuition ), and global work on leadership, innovation, and inner knowing. Together, we explore what intuition really is (hint: not woo-woo), how to cultivate it in a culture obsessed with logic and overthinking, and why your ability to listen to yourself might be the most essential skill you can develop. In This Episode, We Cover: ✅ Why we’ve misunderstood intuition—and how to reclaim it ✅ Practical ways to strengthen your intuitive muscle ✅ What Icelandic wisdom teaches us about inner knowing ✅ How to use intuition during uncertainty and decision-making ✅ Why trusting yourself is an act of rebellion (and power) Intuition isn’t magic—it’s a deep, internal guidance system that already exists inside you. The question is: are you listening? A Godzilla movie that is also a historical drama, “Godzilla Minus One” follows a Japanese kamikaze soldier (Ryûnosuke Kamiki) plagued by survivor’s guilt and attempting to rebuild a life in the rubble of World War 2 Japan. With found family and fierce friends, this soldier navigates both the disruptive echoes of PTSD and repeated brushes with a nuclear-powered Godzilla — culminating in a collective effort to cage the titan at the bottom of the sea. An extraordinary time capsule of Cold War highlights, social justice movements, and the American folk music scene, “A Complete Unknown” captures a 1960s that sharply resembles the 2020s. Created, written, and directed by the incomparable Mike White, “White Lotus” is on its third season, with its third collection of luxury vacationers, who have more than a third of life-shattering drama. Taking place in the Thailand White Lotus Hotel (a composite of the Four Seasons and other hotels), we are introduced to a North Carolina family on the brink of legal chaos (Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Sam Nivola), a trio of school friends whose lives are successful but still riven with girlhood insecurities (Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon), and a mismatched age-gap couple that puts the fun in dysfunctional (Aimee Lou Wood, Walton Goggins). Also on staff is a literal K-Pop star (Lalisa Manobal from BLACKPINK). WELCOME TO SEASON 2 of MIDDAY MOVIES Today we’re discussing the new sci-fi satire from famed “Parasite” director Bong Joon Ho, “Mickey 17” (2025). Based on the 2022 book, “Mickey7,” this film imagines a future where human printing and consciousness-uploading technology has created a class of worker known as “expendable” — someone who can die and be brought back to life endlessly. The expendable in our story, Mickey Barnes (played by Robert Pattinson), is a member of a space colonization mission headed by an absurd dictatorial figure (played by Mark Ruffalo) and his wife (Toni Collette), and subjected to a strange cult-like culture and endlessly deadly missions until a day of reckoning. Fascinating in its conception and with a cutting take on both oligarchs and western culture at large, “Mickey 17” is a memorable science fiction world on par with “Idiocracy” (2006).
