Today we have the privilege to sit down with Priya Ramesh, the Marketing & Communications Manager at BUMP. (Spoiler Alert: We also get to meet cartel.contra) Priya shares the positive impact murals can have on our city and within our community. Since its inception in 2017 as the Beltline Urban Murals Project, BUMP Festival has experienced remarkable growth, evolving into a city-wide street art movement that envisions the transformation of public spaces through the visual arts and enriches the local arts community's capabilities.
Tune in to hear Priya share how this transformation unfolded and the incredible journey of BUMP. She talks of how artists on our urban canvas understand its power. They challenge perceptions using buildings as vibrant canvases. Unique art isn't a luxury but a necessity, enriching our city and sparking conversations that connect diverse communities through shared artistic experiences. It's about fostering a sense of place and belonging, weaving art into the very fabric of our urban identity. Tune in to discover more about how these artists contribute to our city's cultural fabric and how they can "change a city's architecture from the inside out".
Moreover, Priya shares how murals serve as catalysts for building great neighborhoods, acting as bridges that connect and strengthen our communities. Each mural tells a story, reflecting our past, shaping our present, and dreaming our future.
As we explore the world of public art's impact on our city's soul, murals become windows into our collective imagination and the heartbeat of our urban landscape. To uncover the full story, don't miss Priya's perspective on how these murals have transformed our community and city.
