Chris and Pete Gianno sit down at Shaw's Coffee on The Hill to meet with Mike England - president of St. Mary's South Side Catholic High School.
Mike England has dedicated nearly 4 decades to St. Louis Catholic high schools, as a teacher, coach, and administrator. After extensive time at CBC High School, and now at St. Mary's, Mike is anything, but complacent. Eighteen months ago, it seemed like St. Mary's would be closing its doors, but today, it boasts the only high school pre-apprenticeship program around, it is spearheading an initiative to make attractive housing available to members of the community, and it is inspiring young men to believe that anything is possible.
Listen to Mike's eye-opening story, which includes nothing less than: challenging a powerful institution, saving a proud and effective high school, and enhancing a community desperately in need of support. Despite the obstacles and disappointments Mike endured while facing the Archdiocese of St. Louis, Mike identifies God's intervention as the source of the Miracle which unfolded.
