In this episode, I had a wonderful conversation with my close friend Jamie, whose handle on Instagram and TikTok is LoveWarriorHugs. Jamie was diagnosed with epilepsy at 18 and later with MS at 24, and we discussed life before diagnosis, the impact of her conditions on her daily life, and the importance of advocacy and support systems.
Jamie emphasized the significance of finding a good doctor and being proactive in managing her health through medications and physical therapy. We also talked about the importance of reframing bad days, acknowledging limitations, and prioritizing self-care to navigate the ups and downs of living with chronic illnesses.
Jamie's energy and positivity shine through despite the additional challenges she faces, including refractory epilepsy and trigeminal neuralgia. Her commitment to advocacy, positive outlook, and unwavering support for others in similar situations are truly inspiring.
Jamie's message to newly diagnosed individuals resonated deeply - "Never stop."
