It's December 12: surgery day. After a lifetime of declining hearing, Caroline is going to receive a CI532 cochlear implant. We have a talk in car on the way to the hospital, and then simply let Caroline's surgeon, Dr. Richard Liu, describe the cochlear implant procedure, the risks, techniques, and what he loves about doing the procedure.
