Mona Smith-Stocklin, an R&B soul singer from Southern California, hails from Farmington, New Mexico, but was raised in the Inland Empire in Southern California. Music has been in Mona's life since before she could speak, as she was surrounded by various genres like Blues, Country, rock, and R&B from a young age. In a time when there were no black radio stations, she turned to albums, fostering a passion for country and contemporary music through white radio stations. Growing up, her parents' extensive collection of 45 records and albums, including comedy albums, exposed her to comedians like Red Fox and Richard Pryor, adding to her eclectic musical upbringing.
