Welcome to NEP "On Location." Here we hit the road and have conversations with some of the brightest minds from the worlds of public safety, organized labor, communications, politics, and more.

In this episode, Mark Treglio is on location at the IAFF 10th District PEP event in San Francisco. He has a conversation with Mitch De Anda, Program Director of the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC), and Jeanette Plascencia, Recruitment Director of Cal-JAC, the California Firefighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee. Both the FCTC and CALJAC are organizations that are supported by California Professional Firefighters.

Mitch and Jeanette talk with Mark about some of the processes that candidates need to go through to get hired as firefighters and EMS providers, the current recruitment environment the fire service is going through, and some success stories that their very unique programs have had overcoming these challenges.
