You are not alone. Especially not when you are managing your mental health through a health diagnosis and the mental health of your care takers and loved ones. In this episode, we talk about ways to cope with an ever changing “new normal” and all that comes with it.

About our Guest

Becky Helms is a native Houstonian who has made her mark in the health care world as a nurse at Houston Methodist Hospital for over 13 years. Her more recent claim to fame is her bubbly personality on her social media page @IWantToQuitMyDayJob. She stepped away from the bedside in September 2022, and went into nursing education. Her role as a Professional Practice Leader helps educate bedside nurses on the ins and outs of transplant nursing.

2023 was a challenging year for Becky, as she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and had major surgery to remove a tumor in her chest. Becky went public with this journey and started inspiring her social media community on her Instagram page.

As of June 2023, she is cancer free and back to doing what she loves. She has a passion for mental health, and served on the advisory board of the Nick Finnegan Counseling Center for a phenomenal three years. She was also awarded Team Member of the year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during their Annual Visionary of the Year fundraiser, raising over $68K in a few short months. In her free time, Becky loves to travel, cook, and play with her adorable three nieces. She has also been known to love a microphone from time to time.
