Stine Bauer Dahlberg - Trouble Inc / New York Times / Apple / Spotify
Manage episode 278299911 series 2828050
Stine Bauer Dahlberg is my latest guest on the Nordic Future Makers podcast! Stine is based in New York and we connected on Skype for a fast moving conversation.
Stine is co-founder of Trouble Inc which is a new apparel brand and community focused on self-expression at work. Before this she was Managing Director of Newsroom Brand Marketing at the New York Times, Brand Lead for the App Store at Apple and an early Spotify employee working on Special Projects.
We covered a lot of ground in our discussion:
- 1 min 00 secs - Stine is half Swedish, half Norwegian and ended up in New York via Sweden, Scotland, Copenhagen, London, San Francisco, Washington and more - so we start off talking about this!
- 1 min 55 secs - Trouble Inc - we discuss the new brand, where it came from and some of the ideas behind it
- 6 mins 30 secs - New York Times - we talk about how Stine got the job at the New York Times and some of the lessons learned (which includes how to make change happen in a 'traditional' environment)
- 14 mins 15 secs - NYT and Everlane partnership
- 16 mins 40 secs - Apple - how Stine helped to drive the editorial development of the App Store
- 23 mins 45 secs - Spotify - the crazy story of how Stine ended up working at Spotify in London
- 27 mins 00 sec - Long term plans are over-rated, what do I want to do NOW?
*Note - the sound on Stine's end for the first couple of minutes is a little bit 'Skypey', but it quickly improves and settles down and there's some great content as the episode progresses....
I hope you enjoy the podcast as much as I enjoyed making it and I hope you will subscribe and listen again - in the future!
