My guest today is Emmy Nominated Event Producer and certified Entertainment Marketing ProfessionalYvonne McNair. Yvonne and I chat about her childhood shuttling between Naperville, Illinois and New Orleans, Louisiana, working with Prince and her innovative marketing campaigns and event management for major clients including; The Sundance Film Festival, NBC, BET Networks, Apple Music, and MTV, ADCOLOR, the City of New York, EBONY Media Group, NATIVE SON and Google to name a few.

Yvonne has built a successful and inspiring career in event production and earned 3 degrees in process, all after becoming a teen Mother and while raising her son. This is not a story about capitalism as much as it is about a woman who wont settle for less than she deserves and works hard to get it.

Yvonne and I engage in a wide ranging discussion that demonstrates the power of belief in self, the importance of a strong work ethic and the role of education in Yvonne's brand of 'black girl magic.'
