The hipster didn’t swim in the river because it was too mainstream.

Today we are discussing Lower Mountain Fork River in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

The Lower Mountain Fork River offers year-round trout fishing throughout a 12-mile portion of lower river, as well as its tributaries from the Broken Bow dam downstream to US-70 bridge. The river is also a popular canoe and kayak float trip destination from spring through fall. About five miles of the Lower Mountain Fork River is within Beavers Bend State Park, where boat access is unlimited. Below the park area, there are public access points at the dam and near the rapids of Presbyterian Falls. Camping and cabin rentals are available at Beavers Bend State Park.

Broken Bow, Oklahoma is in McCurtain County and is a nature lover’s dream. It is home to Beavers Bend State Park, Broken Bow Lake and The Forest Heritage Center, also known as the "wood art capital of Oklahoma."
