“I was rocked, now I’m rocking back.” – Melissa Smith

In 2003, Melissa Smith lost her father to suicide. 4 years ago, her husband also took his own life. Survived by a 15-year old daughter and 19-year old son, Melissa became numb. Unable to eat or sleep, her stature had dropped to a delicate 95-lb body.

Triple H said “Kids don’t do what you say, they do what they see. How you live your life is their example.” Taking this statement may allow some to ponder negatively. The Smith tribe respond differently.

Melissa sees that she had the absolute best 25 years with her father. She echoes that she was able to experience the depths of true love and creation with her husband that many will unfortunately never get to experience themselves.

Along with Triple H’s quote, Melissa’s greatest payoff in life was watching her mother being a master craftswoman of her work. LaVonne Goldschmidt is an exemplary parent and a hall of fame Administrative Professional in the state of Georgia.

Watching her and studying her craft through the years built Melissa’s deep commitment to relentlessly pursue the mastery of service and learning.

Not allowing her kids to be defined as those who lost their dad and grandfather to suicide, Melissa took a gigantic leap of faith and set her mindset to live like there was no tomorrow.

Just two years ago, Melissa was living check to check and suffering from anxiety and certain fears for 15 years.

Today, Melissa is a successful business owner (The PVA – Personal Virtual Assistant), a best-selling author, and world traveler. She is also an exemplary mother, daughter, sister, and a role-model to all those who hear her story.

In January of 2017, Melissa is set to begin her new expedition – one that would cement her legacy as a world change-maker. She will be traveling to 12 countries in 12 months with 40 other entrepreneurs, helping other entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams.

Also during her 12-month journey in 2017, Melissa speaks into existence that she will write her 2nd best-selling book, launch a virtual summit for her industry, and become the global face and world-wide leader of virtual assistance.

There’s a saying, “The purpose of life, is a life of purpose.”

Instead of being the person that life happened to, Melissa is going to be the person who created the life she wants to live.

In this episode with Melissa Smith, here are some key takeaways for you to explore and implement:

  • How to master the art of service and learning.
  • Changing your mindset when you experience tragedy (losing dad and husband to suicide).
  • How to learn and read about anything (such as wine-making) and incorporating those skills into your work.
  • To pursue mastery, not to become the jack of all trades.
