Getting pregnant after a miscarriage can be a scary thing. We are here to help you after your miscarriage.

First, it is important to know that it takes 4-6 weeks to begin to ovulate after a miscarriage. You can ovulate as soon as 2 weeks, and it also may take up to 3 months, but the average is 4-6 weeks.

Though you can get pregnant this soon, it is not optimal. The optimal time to wait is 6 months.

This is to prevent a repeat miscarriage. The loss rate for pregnancy is twenty percent (1 in 5 women).

However, if you get pregnant after a miscarriage before waiting for 6 months, then your loss rate is above that twenty percent.

So, it is important to use some form of contraceptive during those first 6 months after a miscarriage.

Talk to your healthcare provider, continue your prenatal vitamin and folic acid, drink water, and begin to plan for your next pregnancy.
