She may have been described as an “accidental CEO” when she first took the top spot at Xerox back in 2001, but she quickly proved the skeptics wrong by successfully executing the multi-billion dollar turnaround that brought the company back from the brink of bankruptcy. By her own admission, her rise to the corner office was “pretty erratic” but, in retrospect, it’s clear to see that those years in sales, HR and operations, prepared her well.
