Reductionism argues that if it can’t be measured it does not exist. Since nobody has measured the soul nor seen it inside the human body, then to the reductionistic MD it doesn’t exist. So your medical doctor is trained to believe that the human body is a soulless bag of biochemicals waiting to break – and when something does break, it is not the doctor’s job to cure that condition. It’s the doctors job to manage the symptomatic expression of the illness with whatever means they have necessary: pharmaceuticals; radiation; or surgery.
