This episode originated because I was intrigued by how Steve Cummins has a podcast and newsletter by the same name: The Marketing Mix. I was curious about his experience and the synergies between a newsletter and a podcast. But the conversation is so much more than that.

Steve Cummins, Founder of Solent Strategies, launched The Marketing Mix in April 2023 to help support his marketing consultancy. It’s the kind of conversation Steve would like to have with a marketer over a cocktail.

In this conversation, he shares his experience launching prior podcasts, using podcasts as part of an ABM strategy, the premise behind “Marketing Mix,” how he uses podcast media in his own marketing, some of the tools he uses, how he ties it into the newsletter, and how he has avoided the podcast graveyard.
