David Townsend is a 4th generation Swampscott resident. His career is in international telecommunications policy and economics, which has taken him around the world to more than 85 countries. He has written countless reports and papers and book chapters in his professional field, but his non-career literary interests have gone in very different directions.
David has a deep interest in the history of Rock 'n' Roll music: the topic of his first book, "Rock 'n' Roll and War and Peace," along with a number of other essays, blog, etc. And his recent book and current interest focus on both hiking in nature and local history: "Retracing Steps: An Exploration of Nature and History on the Massachusetts North Shore".
David also has a podcast with his daughter Alexandra, concerning Romance Comic Books: "My Comical Romance".
