In this first of a two-part interview, Mason walks us through a 20-year journey through a chemical addiction that began in high school. He holds nothing back. It’s emotional, honest, and reveals much about the mind of an addict.

He shares his childhood understanding of a god who demanded perfection, and how that metastasized into full-blown self-loathing and rejection of a Creator responsible for the pain in his life and those he loved.
