For 3 years, she has had abnormal pap smears. The first few years showed a low level of cervical dysplasia. But in the past 6 months, the pap smear report showed a more progressed pathology (LSIL) and defined visual lesions. What changed that might have contributed to this progression? No new sexual partner. No lifestyle change. Could it be that a windsurfing accident with a bruised spleen impaired her immune function? This is the last in a series of 4 cases demonstrating use of rubrics about Abdomen! It also includes rubrics about the cervix, which can be challenging to locate. (Be sure to take notes.)
