The "purity" narrative, also called the traditional church narrative, gave a very limited view of sexuality. Many were impacted negatively as they grew into adulthood and entered marriage, bringing guilt over past decisions, shame from past abuse, or fear of enjoying the gift of intimacy in its intended context. Today, we talk with Lori about reframing the Purity narrative and understanding God's intended purpose for sex and sexuality. She shares the 4 R's; relationship, reasons, responsibility, and restoration needed to heal the narrative while also understanding God's design and intentions for sexuality.
