This week, I'm exploring one of my favorite metaphors for managing your mind when you feel stuck in overwhelming thoughts or emotions. Whether it’s anxiety about parenting in public, workplace challenges, or battling your inner critic, these feelings can be like characters in the movie “Inside Out.” Picture them in the backseat of your mind, vying for attention. Of course, you are the one driving. You know where you want to go. You don't want to let those distracting thoughts or emotions take the wheel. And you also can't spend too much time & energy getting annoyed or arguing with them.
In this episode, I share insights and practical strategies for taking control of the steering wheel, acknowledging these emotions without letting them dictate the journey.
