What is it like to be evacuated during a crisis in a foreign country?

Mario Zúñiga is an attorney and advisor at the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Lima, Peru. He was working in Libya for the Institute for Liberty and Democracy when Tripoli erupted in revolution. He joins us via Skype from Lima to tell us what it is like to be evacuated.

Carol Pineau spent more than 20 years reporting for major news outlets including the BBC, CNN, NPR, and Voice of America. Her coverage is focused on news from Africa. Carol gives us the unique perspective of being a journalist going in to Eritrea as everyone else was running out.

Christine Fagan is the U.S. State Department’s Division Chief for American Citizen Services and Crisis Management in the Western Hemisphere. She oversees emergency and non-emergency consular services to Americans in 39 countries.
