RUN

We took our training run to Walt Disney World to check out the 2020 Epcot Food and Wine Festival. We had a 3-miler to complete and thought this was a great chance to get a peek at the festival as it is running longer than it ever has before this year. We also wanted to see what the experience was like at Disney now that it has reopened.

EAT

This year we got to experience classics at the Canada booth! We featured the Canada booth in Episode 86 as we compared it to Ireland’s offerings. The “Le Cellier” Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with Truffle-Butter Sauce was great and the star is always Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup with a Prop and Peller Pretzel Roll. Ireland has not returned, but we got to experience a brand new booth called Citrus Blossom. The Lobster Tail served with Meyer Lemon Emulsion and Grilled Lemon was fantastic and the Crispy Citrus Chicken with Orange Aioli and Baby Greens was awesome. We can’t wait to try more from the festival later on this year!

DRINK

The 2020 Epcot Food and Wine Festival had some great beer offerings as well. We got two new ones between the Canada and Citrus Blossom booths. At Citrus Blossom, we saw Islamorada Beer Company and we had to try the Coconut Key Lime Ale there. Crisp and refreshing for a hot Florida day, it had subtle notes of coconut and key lime. With an ABV of 5%, it was a great offering to cool off during this very humid Florida summer. At Canada, there was the Blackberry Fruit Beer from Collective Arts out of Hamilton, Ontario. At 4.7% ABV, it was a beer with lower carbonation and a dry finish, and a blackberry color, almost as if it was a wine. It was not a dessert beer, but a refreshing offering that we’d have again in Canada.

THAT’S A WRAP!
