I put something out on Instagram yesterday saying I just haven't been feeling okay. And Nicole wrote back and said this. "I don't have the circuit in my brain that equates self-care pedicures and haircuts and shopping and facials. To me, self-care is working out, hiking in the woods, yoga. It's about moving my body. I need it daily. It took me four years postpartum and the pandemic to see it again as a priority. I'm going on a full year of moving my body for me. It's my sanity. Have I lost weight? Not even a little; the scale hasn't budged at all. Do I still have a belly pooch and saggy skin? You betcha. But it's all about how I feel and how it makes me a better human, wife, Mama, friend, and colleague. I think I'd be in a straitjacket Otherwise."
