On this episode, NAFB News Service’s Micheal Clements provides an update from this week’s American Farm Bureau Federation annual convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The organization set its 2023 policy priorities at the meeting and named Kansas-based NORDEF the winner of the 2023 Farm Bureau Ag Innovation Challenge. We also talk sustainability and company history with Dr. Steve Lerner, Senior Scientific and Business Advisor for animal health and nutrition with Chr. Hansen, which last month announced its intention to merge with another ag biosciences company, Novozymes. In this week’s segment of “The Dirt,” Nutrien Senior Agronomist Mike Howell and Virginia Tech Field Crops Agronomist Dr. Hunter Frame have an in-depth conversation about nitrogen. In this week’s Meat Monitor segment, U.S. Meat Export Federation President Dan Halstrom discusses another record month for U.S. pork exports in November and continued strength for beef exports. Jesse Allen and Stone X Chief Commodities Economist Arlan Suderman discuss the January WASDE numbers in our Market Talk Report, and Ray Bohacz is talking two-stroke engine troubles in “Bushels and Cents.” The episode also features new music from Australia native and Clarksville Creative Sound recording artist Vanessa Bourne.
