Part 1:
We talk with Joe Jaworski, a Texas lawyer and politician. We discuss the recent primary votes in Texas, where 15 Republicans lost to more far-right Republicans who were supported by Gov. Abbott. The goal for Abbott was to get more state representatives who would support the school vouchers he has been pushing.
We also talk about the climate problems: in Texas, several severe storms in the same week knocked out power to millions. Texas is not connected to the national grid, by their choice. The fossil fuel lobby is strong.
Part 2:
We talk with Bill Curry and Harold Meyerson about several topics:
-the barriers that Biden is facing: perception of high inflation, when much of the price inflation is in fact price gouging; Biden's inarticulation of policies that will help over time; the economic frustration of the populace.
We also discuss the problems with the US Supreme Court, and the ethical lapses by the justices.
