The SIN R1 GT4 started its North American campaign with a bang – LITERALLY! Contact between Bob Michaelian and Brett Sandberg in round 1 of the Pirelli World Challenge GTS Championship sent Michaelian’s SIN R1 into the wall, hard. The hit was hard enough to significantly damage the car, forcing the team to miss the next round at St. Petersburg. Racers Edge Motorsports returned to the track for the third race weekend at Barber Motorsports Park – and proved what the SIN R1 was capable of. Jade Buford rocketed his SIN R1 to the win twice that weekend with a double-Top Five each race.
From wreckers (of no fault of the car) to checkers, the SIN R1 proved itself a reputable force in GTS. Listen in as Racers Edge Motorsports team principal, Jon Mirachi, shares his story from a hectic first race to a successful season (with many wins along the way).
Now, Racers Edge prepares for 2017 with the announcement of Jason Bell as the first full-season customer for the stalwart team – and the menacing SIN R1. The young driver looks to capitalize on his karting and open wheel experience for a successful campaign in the 2017 GTS season.
