Recording artist, songwriter, multi-onstrumentalist and producer CAROLENA has been fusing styles and refining her songwriting. In this episode, Sierra and CAROLENA talk about different starting points for songwriting, how to let go of expectations when writing for yourself, and the importance of finding your city.

CAROLENA is a recording artist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, performer, and actress based in South Florida. Originally from New York, CAROLENA has an authentic, soulful sound —delivering a fusion of Indie-Pop and R&B with Lo-Fi undertones. She graduated with a music scholarship from Loyola University New Orleans— receiving a Bachelor of Science in Popular & Commercial Music and interning with The Recording Academy’s “Grammy U” program. CAROLENA's most recent accomplishments are having received multiple Sync Placements for TV/Film on networks such as HULU, Netflix, CW, MTV, BET, and more. She was listed as a Top Prospect in Music Connection Magazine, and featured on NPR’s “All Songs Considered” for her Tiny Desk Contest submission.
