It is common to project our own limited beliefs or past experiences onto the God of our understanding. We place limits on the infinite creative force. We might even believe that "God is love, or loving," intellectually, but deep inside we don't expect to be provided for, or that our dreams and hopes could be fulfilled.
Examining our practical beliefs often shows us that we need to expand our conceptions of divinity. For many of us, it's time to get a bigger God.
