How do we parent black and brown children in today’s culture? How do we parent them in a way that edifies and empowers them in their identity? Today, Neal is having an open and vulnerable conversation with Shanera Williamson, host of the Brown Mama Bear Podcast, and someone who believes all children deserve to grow up in a world where they are seen, celebrated, and given the tools to succeed. Neal and Shanera talk about affirming our children in who they are, acknowledging the biggest challenges for parents of black and brown children, and what happens when we all show up without hiding who we are.

What does this have to do with emotional wellness? Everything. One of the biggest pillars of emotional health is having healthy self-esteem and identity. Our culture and race are a huge part of that.

This conversation was so good. We know you’ll get a lot out of it!
