Nine years ago today, on February 26th, 2012, Trayvon Martin, an unarmed 17-year-old young Black man, was shot and killed in Sanford, Florida. This is a day to remember that we are still in the fight for social justice and equality. Since the death of their son, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin have committed their lives to transform tragedy into change. They created The Trayvon Martin Foundation to empower others to become catalysts for social change. In this week's episode of Financial Fridays, we pay tribute to Trayvon's legacy, and to those unarmed Black men and women who have been fatally shot by police officers nationwide since 2015 (at least 135 lives lost).

In this week's Unplugged segment, Coach Colette opens up to share real and candid thoughts about loss. As a result of recent losses in her personal network, she reflects on what it takes to sustain friendships and relationships during these challenging times. Have you noticed a shift in the collection of friends with whom you are still in contact? How have your interactions been impacted by the pandemic?
