Warnings for spoilers and mature content DO YOU LIKE SCARY MOVIES? We know you do, and so do we! We are Glenn and Jess, besties and drive-in mutants, with a shared passion for the macabre, the grotesque and the ridiculous. When you’re home alone on those dark and stormy nights, we’ll let you know where you can tune in and find a chill to run up your spine. Every month we’ll watch and discuss two horror movies that you can watch at home, alone or with that special someone or someTHING. We connect deeply with horror movies, which is a little disturbing if you think about it. So, we go off on plenty of tangents, side chats and rants along the way, before passing our final judgments and letting you know where you can find these terrifying treasures. What kind of horror movies do we cover? Why, anything you can stream! From the dawn of Hollywood to today. From the grindhouse to the arthouse, from slashers to found footage, from serial killers to haunted houses, and from comedy to the truly deranged, if it’s on the net for you, it’s on the slab for us. We’ll unleash new episodes on the 1st Thursday of every month, so please, enter freely, of your own will, and leave some of the happiness you bring. JOIN US.

The Terror of the Tutu The lights go down, a hush falls over the theater. Slowly, softly the strings of Swan Lake begin to fill the room, and a lone 12-year-old girl gracefully glides across the stage Into a gorgeously executed pirouette. Suddenly screams feel the air and blood seems to explode across the room from every direction! Welcome to the home of: ABIGAIL Join us as we take a look at the last days of a band of dumb kidnappers who have picked up the wrong little girl! Along the way we'll talk about concert ticket prices, yelling for songs at shows, Danzig, bad accents, bad ADR, differentiating aromatic root vegetables, and King Diamond. So grab a stake and some tights and join us in the bloodbath ballet that is this weeks episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!…
Alone What would you do if you were confronted by something absolutely incomprehensible? How would you handle it, if you looked up one day and found death staring you in the face? What if you had to face that, alone, while still surrounded by the people supposed to be closest to you? On the other side, what would you do if you were supposed to be one of those people, closest to someone who needed you and it was too late? What would you do as their dark secrets came bubbling up to the surface. That’s what we’ll be dealing with this week as we look at the criminally overlooked Aussie mockumentary: Lake Mungo Join us as we take an intimate look at a family, already deeply divided, as they deal with the horrors of death, and the horrors of life, and the horrors of being haunted by survivor’s guilt, by loneliness, and just maybe, by a ghost. Along the way we’ll touch on similarly deep concepts like, what do you do when your car is dying, or when you find out that your brother is secretly raising a kitten? How do we solve the epidemic of feline illiteracy? Do snitches REALLY get stitches? Can Glenn REALLY read your palm? How does Twin Peaks fit into all this nonsense? Only one way to find out! Join us in a dream logic time loop of pixelated Australian ghost sightings on this engrossing episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!…
The Silver Scream This week, we'll go back to the seedy, sadistic and cutthroat world of Hollywood and take a look at what happens when you sell your body and soul for fame, fortune and glamor with: Starry Eyes Taking a different approach to some similar themes as The Substance and The Neon Demon, we examine life for a struggling actress with an evil cult on one side of her, and the most toxic group of theater kids on the other. Along the way, we go all the way off the rails with the LA fires, conspiracy theories, generations, education, the evolution of the human mind vs the evolution of technology, California water, AI, movies with multiple directors, #MeToo, black metal and personal growth. Does it sound chaotic? It is, but we're having a damn good time on this bleakly glamorous episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!…
Clip Show In space, no one will hear you scream…or roll your eyes and groan. This week, Jess and Glenn sit down for the new Alien greatest hits album: ALIEN: ROMULUS We’ll talk about the physiological and social ramifications of hypersleep. We’ll try to track the increasingly complex reproduction cycle of the xenomorphs. We’ll tackle the biggest philosophical question posed by this movie: Is it possible to have too much fan service, too many references, and too many Easter eggs? The answer may just surprise you! Or it may not if you've seen this one.…
Zany Regional Spinoff Edition Happy Birthday to us! Streaming Screams has been going for an entire year! We can hardly believe it! And speaking of belief, we are kicking off our second season with a movie that asks us some big questions about religion, ourselves and our beliefs: Do we believe what we believe because it’s what was taught to us? When we challenge our beliefs, how do they hold up? What is the one true religion? Heretic This week we sit down and examine Hugh Gran in this fascinating foray into religiously philosophical horror as he terrorizes two young Mormon women. As we do so, we’ll ask some tough questions of our own: Would you walk into a house with metal in the walls? Should you trust overly charming people? Does a blueberry pie scented candle REALLY smell like blueberry pie? What’s the point of a cover letter, anyway?…
Simply Irresistible Get ready for an absolutely bonkers journey through the glamorous and dangerous worlds of celebrity and modeling with two wild takes on being a beautiful woman in the entertainment industry: The Substance The Neon Demon We are heading into the depths of what women in Hollywood and the Los Angeles modeling industry are willing to do to maintain their youth, their beauty, their fame and their adoration. We’ll talk about the violence one will do to themselves, or their competition, to remain pleasing to others, and the roles that society, men, age and power play in all of this, all explored through the lenses of body horror, understated supernatural dread, and good old fashioned murder. Along the way, Jess will tell us why she doesn’t need more apps while Glenn continues to struggle with names and gets very invested in color schemes. We’ll talk about big cats, our experience with the Hollywood walk of fame, Glenn meeting Lars Ulrich and Nicolas Winding Refn, plastic surgery disasters, and we’ll make an announcement about the future of the podcast. So paint your face with sparkles and grab yourself some moist, floppy shrimp, because we're gonna get weird with it in this bizarre, yet beautiful, episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!…
Closer to God Throw on your trench coat, pour yourself another coffee, and get ready for a late night, because it’s time for some good, old fashioned, detective work, 90’s style! As the new year begins, we are going back in time to talk about a police procedural made in the 90s, and one that takes place in the 90s. Seven Longlegs Is Seven horror, strictly speaking? Who cares, that movie rules and is at least horror related. Is Longlegs horror? Yes. It’s also bonkers. We’ll dive into a sin-filled city, rife with corruption, crime and misery before heading out to the Pacific Northwest for a very memorable Nic Cage performance in a very strange movie. While we’re at it, we’ll talk about plastic surgery disasters like permanent duck-face and noses that fall off, bemoan the fact that so many fans want so many things to be the same all the time, celebrate living in a new golden age of weird horror, and Glenn will go on for a bit too long about Nine Inch Nails. It’s time to condemn our eternal souls on this creepy noir episode of Streaming Screams!…
As the year draws to a close and night seems to surround us, it’s often a good time to reflect. To look inside yourself and see how you’re doing. To take a deep dive into your emotions. This month we examine two movies that really sum up how people feel around the holiday season: Smile The Sadness First we take a hit of that jump-scare adrenaline and hallucinatory uncertainty with Smile, before exploring the absolute depths of human depravity with The Sadness. Along the way we’ll talk about how not to hold an intervention, older folks and creepy dudes bothering you when you’re just trying to read a book, the value of human live vs. the value of animal life in horror, and we’ll laugh at Glenn as his inability to pronounce people’s names hits an all time low. We also take a moment show a little love to the great Tony Todd. You’ll laugh! You’ll cry! You’ll scream! You’ll… stream? It’s all part of the roller-coaster of emotions that is this month’s episode of Streaming Screams!…
From the Bowels of Hell to the Terrors of the Mind As we return to our normal monthly schedule we explore the Inferno and ask, is it age and Alzheime’rs, or is it something, somehow more sinister? Join us as we strap on the camera with two found footage flicks: As Above, So Below The Taking of Deborah Logan We’ll explore the allegory of the parisian catacombs, dive into the unexplored family drama of child sacrifices and queer daughters, look for a physical way out of Hell with a wannabe Last Crusade-era Indiana Jones, and deal with way too many snakes. Along the way we’ll tackle some of the big, important life topics, like growing up catholic, being a bad student, why you shouldn’t kill rattlesnakes if you see them, motion sickness, Hummel and Precious Moments figures, energy drinks and shady HVAC contractors. So get on your belly and abandon all hope with this first person episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!…
The End is the Beginning Alas, all parties must come to an end and trick or treating can only go on for so long. The neighbors are turning out their lights, so open up your bag for the last fun-sized episode of our Spooky Season Super Scary Screamtacular with John Carpenter's most seminal work, the original classic, the immortal, the iconic Halloween We travel all the way back to 1978, with a quick detour to 1963, to see the Michael Myers legacy take shape (See what we did there?). One thing that’s going to be interesting about this journey is that we watched two different versions of the movie. Glenn watched the version that we all know and love, while Jess watched the extended version involving scenes added years later. Along the way, we’ll touch on some important subjects like why teens bang in their parents bed (and maybe why they shouldn’t), whether artists can be trusted to tell you the meaning of their own art, whether you can be a goody two-shoes and still smoke weed, and what the heck is a slasher anyway? As we say goodbye to spooky season and return to our monthly schedule, we want to thank you for joining us for our first Halloween event. May your costumes be awesome, your parties raucous, your Samhain fires warm, your tricks scary and your treats delightful! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!…

Not Dead Enough The Halloween party continues with another fun-sized episode where we get into the most divisive and controversial film of this whole timeline Halloween Ends As the sequel trilogy winds down and the focus shifts to a new character, we follow Haddonfield into the depths of societal and generational trauma. Along the way we’ll examine how we, as individuals and society, relate to, and are reflected by, this dark, decaying town, the wisdom of doing 3 Halloween movies in 3 different genres, Romeo and Juliet romances, people’s need for someone to blame and whether this movie is secretly a remake of Christine or not. It’s time to burn it down with the penultimate fun sized episode of our Spooky Season Super Scary Screamtacular!…
