We are the night! By that I mean we are three guys that just happen to review movies usually at night for your listening pleasure. This week as we continue our Merry F!@#ing Xmas theme of jolly episodes, we review the 1992 super hero flick, Batman Returns starring Michael Keaton, Michelle Pfeiffer and Danny DeVito directed by Tim Burton. In this outing the caped crusader is back as he takes on The Penguin and Catwoman as they wreak havoc on the city of Gotham during the holiday season all the while Max Shreck (Christopher Walken) is doing is own evil bidding in the city.Is this a holiday film you may ask? Of course it is! I mean there’s snow on the ground, they light up a giant Christmas tree in Gotham Square, people have presents and people are wishing one another happy holidays. For a sequel, and for a superhero sequel to boot, the movie does a wonderful job on many levels. You get to see the origins of not just one but TWO coveted villains of Batman lore with the bonus of seeing them very well portrayed on the big screen. Next up the story is well written to where it’s not drawn out and keeps you entertained from beginning to end and lastly, Keaton dons the cowl once again for a superb performance as the dark knight.Put on your rubber suit (without bat nipples), grab the batarang, and strap in to the batmobile as we go full thrust on this episode.
