In this compelling episode of "Talking SASSI About Abuse," we hear the remarkable story of A. Garcia. Born into a life of abuse and trauma, A. Garcia faced challenges from her mother's abandonment and an abusive father to teen violence and early motherhood. Despite being kicked out and left to raise her daughter alone, she persevered, earning her GED and pursuing higher education.

Years later, she encountered further betrayal and violence when a new partner nearly killed her and their unborn child. A. Garcia sought justice, facing additional violations by the court system and the heartbreaking kidnapping of her daughter by her ex.

Through sheer resilience, A. Garcia overcame every obstacle, founding the nonprofit 'Confronting Domestic Violence.' Her story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and offers hope and inspiration to those facing similar struggles.
Agape Garcia is what you call a live definition of Post Traumatic Growth. She is an award winning author, an international speaker, a certified high performance coach, a business consultant, and founder of a 501c3 nonprofit.

About 20 years ago, Agape survived a double attempted homicide while over 1000 miles away from home, and by the father of her unborn child. Now, she is dedicating her life to help prevent, mitigate and respond to Domestic Violence.

Since SB 553 became law in CA, combined with her personal and professional background, she has become a compliance guru and is offering businesses across the state to be compliant with the NEW Workplace Violence Prevention Plan. This plan is extensive and requires the inclusion of domestic violence spillover in the workplace.

As the founder of Confronting Domestic Violence, Inc. her mission is to provide resources to real-time victims and their children by offering relocation services. A true need to prevent homelessness and give children a second chance to feel safe at home. Her 1st Gala is Oct 27th!
