November 1st, 2022. What a day in sports, friends. NFL Trade deadline, Brooklyn Nets Breaking news, the 1st College Football Playoff ranking was released, the Colts fired Marcus Brady and Penn & Pops recorded Episode 17.... and they covered it ALL.
Around the World delivers a College Football update. Tennessee is #1 in the CFB Playoff rankings and neither Penn nor Pops can be too mad about it. Penn's early season sleeper seems to be working out nicely. They also discuss the Heisman Trophy race as CJ Stroud is the clear cut leader as of now. Illinois is a 'Surprise Team' making quite a storm in the Big Ten West this year. Penn thinks TCU can make an impact on the CFB Playoff.
They also discuss the unfortunate firing of Steve Nash, the NFL's continuous bad publicity and the NFL trade deadline. Some Colts fans were super sad to see Nyhiem Hines traded to Buffalo. Lastly, during Around the World, they deliver a heartfelt message to Matt Ryan as they agree he's been wrongly treated by the Colts organization.
Naptown News delivers an update on the Colts' latest organizational debacle. They fired OC, Marcus Brady, while keeping OL Coach Chris Strausser on board. They also traded RB Nyhiem Hines to Buffalo in exchange for another RB. They fellas agree that the "Colture" must be changed in order to make an noticeable impact on the field.
In other news, the Pacers (basically) have the same record as the Colts and are WAY more fun to watch. Penn & Pops breakdown each players current stats and discuss their ability to surprise teams as the season progresses. They've represented Indiana and the city of Indianapolis well through their first 8+ games, makin' the fellas ecstatic for the future.
Their "Special segment" is a fun game of Good, Bad or Ugly. Penn mentions teams from the NFL, NBA and CFB while asking Pops' opinions of their fanbases. It's a blast. Lastly, during The Fine Print, Penn and Pops give their input on the Michigan/Michigan State fight while agreeing Michigan State fans can get annoying at times.... okay, most times.
