Today we are talking about tip #5 for helping you to stay even more focused, which is to turn off your email and shut down the automatic email notification system.

You can choose to let people know when you will check email, so they don’t expect an immediate response, if you want to. Let me share an example of what you might have in your email autoresponder that someone would get when they emailed you. The email autoresponder could say something like:

“Thank you for your email.
In order to stay focused and maintain my personal effectiveness, I generally check email only once per day (Monday through Friday). If you are a client and need immediate service or attention, please call my office at (555) 778-5623.
Best Regards,
NAME”
