One of the most underrated films of the past five years is perhaps the greatest dramatic performance of Ben Affleck as well. THE ACCOUNTANT did reasonably well in the box office, but never got green lit for a sequel despite excellent performances as well by Anna Kendrick and Jon Bernthal — both favorites of the Bizzle and Papa B and both with fantastic chemistry with Affleck. It may be about an accountant who is also a sniper but it’s really about mental illness and the effect it has on human relationships. The action, while thrilling and very realistic, is saved for just a few key scenes and perhaps was the reason for its modest box office was Average American wanted more violence. But from our perspective, this is an A+ minimalist perfection film that draws from a number of genres including noir, modern Western, and of course superhero tropes but is far, far more mature, intellectual, and profound than most genre fair. Hope you enjoy! Papa Bizzle and I had a fantastic time doing this one.
