Today, we are making invisible things visible for people who have obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), otherwise known as ‘The Doubt Disorder.’ I’m talking to OCD advocate Tia Wilson, and OCD therapist, licensed professional counselor and Clinical Marketing Director at NOCD, Jenna Overbaugh. NOCD (“No-CD”) is an organization dedicated to the treatment of OCD, with therapists across the world. In this episode, Tia and Jenna shine a light on many of the nuances of OCD (including the overlap of ADHD and OCD), leave us with important take-aways, and describe the gold standard treatment, Exposure and Response Prevention therapy.

We cover:

  • Why is OCD becoming known as ‘the doubt disorder’?
  • Is OCD ‘curable’?
  • What do ADHD and OCD have in common, and how are they really different from each other?
  • What is Perfectionism OCD and how is it different from regular perfectionism?

A gentle reminder that this is not therapy, and Christina is not your therapist. If you need more one on one support or treatment, please check out the links posted in the Show info and episode notes on the main podcast webpage.
