Shanell Williamson shares her experiences as a community health worker doing community outreach throughout the Delta of Mississippi with the Jefferson Comprehensive Health Center/Mississippi SHINE Project.

Shanell Shanell R. Williamson is a native of Bassfield, MS and still resides in the community. She began her healthcare career 20 years ago with Southeast MS Rural Health Initiative, INC. She rose from being a Medical Receptionist up to being offered a position of Community Health Worker. She has served in many administrative capacities within Southeast MS Rural Health Int. (SeMRHI) but nothing takes the place as providing outreach to the communities. Shanell Williamson pursued an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration at Pearl River Community College in Hattiesburg, MS. Shanell Williamson has a membership with The American Academy of Professional Coders, received The Leadership at Work Certification and received a Certificate of Completion from the University Of Mississippi Medical Center as a Community Health Advocate, received The Shining Star Award from Jefferson Comprehensive Health Center/The Mississippi SHINE Project and serves the District Secretary of John L. Webb Grand High Court Stringer Lodge F. & A.M. of Mississippi Prince Hall Affiliation as well as the secretary for Bassfield Court #239.She’s the oldest of three siblings and the mother of one son; Austin.
