The Mountain Is You: Transforming self-sabotage into self-mastery.

By: Brianna Wiest

What’d Up Crew? What’s good?

Who Gon’ Check Me Boo?! God is!

Psalm 34:4

I sought the Lord, and he answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.

Song Trust in God:

I’ve been repeating this song every day all day. I turned it on again writing this outline.

It’s called trust in GOD elevation worship.

Blessed Assurance

Jesus is mine

Born of His spirit

Washed in His blood

My Savior is the one who will never fail; He will never fail

I know the author of tomorrow has ordered my steps

He didn’t fail you then; He won’t fail you now

I sought the Lord and He heard, and He answered.

That’s why I trust Him.

Introduction:

PG. 5-7

“Mountains are often less a challenge in front of us as it is a problem within us, an unstable foundation that might not seem, evident on the surface but is nonetheless shifting almost every part of our lives.”

Different Types of Mountains:

Erosion Mountains: This occurs during and after an uplift, where a newly formed mountainous region is subjected to the effects of wind, water, ice, and gravity. These forces actively shape the surface of mountain ranges, wearing down the exposed surfaces, depositing sediment in alluvial flows, and forming characteristic landforms.

Block mountains: are caused by faults in the crust, a seam where rocks can move past each other. Also known as rifting, this process occurs when rocks on one side of a fault rise relative to the other.

Volcanic mountains- are formed when a tectonic plate is pushed beneath another (or above a mid-ocean ridge or hotspot) where magma is forced to the surface

fold mountains- occur when two tectonic plates collide at a convergent plate boundary, causing the crust to over thicken.

Chapter 1: The Mountain Is You

  • Pg.11
  • What is self-sabotage? The term self-sabotage is used when this destructive behavior is directed at yourself. At first, you may not even notice that you're doing it. But when negative habits consistently undermine your efforts, they can be considered a form of psychological self-harm.

How to overcome? Pg. 11

  • Pg. 12 Self-sabotage is a coping mechanism

  • Pg. 17 Self-Sabotage comes from what’s unfamiliar.

Please listen very closely: “We are programmed to seek what we’ve known. Even though we think we’re after happiness, we’re trying to find whatever we’re most used to.”

That leads to how self-sabotage comes from pg. 19 “Your limiting beliefs might come from wanting to keep yourself safe.”

  • Pg. 26 “Your new life is going to cost you your old one.”

The challenge of the week

Get out of denial.

Pg. 20-22

“You must first and foremost get out of denial and into clarity about what’s wrong. At this point, you have a choice. You can make peace, or you can commit to changing. The lingering is what is keeping you stuck.”

What Would Crew Do?! (ask for advice)

What did you think about the Eboni K. Williams Comment?

I am late to answer this question and here you go.

Quote of the week:

pg. 8 “Your old self can no longer sustain the life you are trying to lead; it is time for reinvention and rebirth.”

Pg. 18 “What you believe about your life is what you will make true about your life.”
