1) Imposter syndrome >> it is really freaking HARD.
Starting a business is no easy task. Emily and I discuss what it has felt like starting a new business and podcast.
2) I feel it most when i’m not ACTING or MOVING
When I am stuck in my feels... overanalyzing a certain situation... that is when i feel imposter syndrome. When I am acting or moving I rarely every feel imposter syndrome.
I talk about not feeling imposter syndrome while attempting my 52 x 52 (52 marathons in 52 weeks) because the very act of the 52x52 is MOVING.
3) Action threshold
Those who achieve a lot in life have a lower threshold for what they think they need to know or plan before acting… they just START
4) Felt imposter syndrome leaving medicine & Felt imposter syndrome staying in medicine
It is often not the situation that we are in that is causing imposter syndrome. Its the unknown... it is a part of life.
Practical Steps / actions
- 1) Plan > Act > Be consistent
- 2) Seek knowledge from positive and helpful mentors
- 3) Be willing to just TRY things out >> not get so stressed out about the result but just stress about taking action
