Today's episode starts out with a little musical surprise, so be sure to check it out! Today we're talking with professional fiddler Johanna Sö about what it’s like being the only girl in a Celtic Irish rock band, being a full-time musician, composing her songs after a period of injury, and what she does to stay inspired.

[Disclaimer: this episode was originally recorded in August 2019.]

ABOUT JOHANNA

Born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, Johanna Sö announced her intention to someday be a professional violinist at the age of three, in the matter-of-fact way that a child might announce they would like to be Super Man. After a couple years of begging for an instrument, she began classical violin lessons. She’s performed at Carnegie Hall and with Grammy Award winners, and over two decades later, “playing the fiddle” became a professional pursuit when she stumbled upon a crazy bunch of musicians called The Town Pants, with whom she plays and travels the world playing Irish and Celtic Folk Rock music. Check out more of her compositions linked in the show notes and on Spotify, Pandora, and iTunes.
