Hello everyone. today I talk about the New York Jets' early years in the AFL and how owner Harry Wismer claimed to be everything he wasn't. First, the Jets were called the Titans why well we don't really know why. But later in the 60s, the AFL would be done with Wismer and sell to a five-man ownership group led by David "Sonny" Werblin. After they hired Weeb Ewbank to be the coach the team took on a new name the Jets. They would also move to the Shea Stadium in 1964 and with that, they would end the season with the first overall pick in the 1965 AFL draft which they would later pick Joe Namath AKA Broadway Joe.
