Did you know that in 2018 there was a restoration of Elem Klimov's earth-shattering film Come and See? Did you further know that it hasn't been made available for purchase on home video?

I found that out tonight, and was forced to revisit this incredible film and my feelings about it. When you haven't watched something in a certain length of time, and your memory fades, you wonder, "was it really as great as I made it out to be?"

Just watching the high-definition trailer for the restoration is enough to answer that question. This is one of the best-crafted, most important films ever made...which makes its absence in high-definition home media all the more tragic.

But until the day comes when it releases in HD, you can buy or rent it for practically nothing online, and you can listen to our classic GBU commentary on the film at any time!

Original Episode Description:

NSFW! SPOILERS!

Today we look at Elem Klimov's final film, "Come and See". You are not prepared for this film. But you also must watch. It is mandatory viewing. You can rent it on Amazon for only $2.00!

Bear with me, as I'm trying a new audio layout for this episode. It might be a little loud, but the peak levels should actually be more contained than before.

If you like what we're doing, tell a friend! And if you want to tell strangers too, give us a rating and review in Apple Podcasts!
