In this segment, Ted and Jeff continue the conversation about the Malas and how they relate to chronic depression and how we actually manifest it through the Malas. He explains that if we believe the illusion(maya), we actually can make the Malas our own destiny along with all of the suffering that it entails. As we continue exploring the Malas, Ted shares a story about how his depression was manifested through the Malas and reflects about how it can be very beneficial to actually take time to see how our belief in the Malas actually reflects those illusions back to us like a mirror, and then we tend to believe those illusions to be true. He goes on to explain how our life is mirrored through our own Consciousness, which are like "mirrors" that are like puzzles "with not all of the pieces turned upright." He shares some very interesting thoughts that not only can we believe the illusions(maya) about ourselves, but we can also believe in the illusions we harbor about others that many times can be fed through our own mistaken beliefs about ourselves. Ted then illustrates how learning to be more kind and gentle to ourselves can be so very healing and will truly help us to see through our own hangups about our own self image and body image and through the illusions that we aren't good enough somehow. We wrap things up by Ted providing us with an overview of the goal of True Yoga practice in that this work can actually help us drop all of our illusions, thoughts, expectations, and baggage about what we think that we and others "should be" and instead, put our focus on what we and others actually are, which is Enough. At the end of the day, Ted firmly believes that this is ultimately the work and the practice. About Ted Cox- For over thirty years, TED L.
