Thanks to stunt doubles and special effects, stars today appear on the big screen doing some amazing stunts, but in the early days of Hollywood, stars had to do their own stunts. No greenscreen. No CGI special effects.
In this episode of "The History of Hollywood with Marc Wanamaker", Marc introduces us to 4 true pioneers of film; female stars of early Hollywood who wowed movie audiences while performing their own stunts! Whether they were riding on the backs of horses, or on the wings of airplanes, these incredible women are the original female action stars of film; Florence Laurence, Helen Gibson, Helen Holmes and Ruth Roland. The stunts they did were nothing short of amazing, and their legacy lives on forever!
