Mackens Semerzier was a national amateur MMA champion, competed in the UFC, and is a third degree black belt, but don't call him a fighter. He's much more than that. He's also a college graduate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu professor, businessman, and mentor, to name a few.
In this episode, he talks about his journey from fighting around the neighborhood to fighting on the world stage, the mentality required to be a fighter, and why he doesn't fit in that mold. He discusses what ultimately led him to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, what it is exactly, and why it's great for anyone to learn for self defense. He also talks about his journey into entrepreneurship and why the martial arts community is so important.
