Liam Neeson is back, and he’s got a gun. And he’s taking ‘A Walk Among the Tombstones’. Apparently some filmmakers feel like that’s enough for a good film. Joe tends to agree but TJ feels a little differently. Together, they explore why. Also in discussion, Marvel has released plot details for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, CGI animated footage of Popeye, a ‘Supergirl’ TV series coming soon, and the latest upcoming films and trailers.

Show Notes & Links

  • Official Plot Synopsis for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’

Disney has released a new official plot synopsis for Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
  • CGI Animated ‘Popeye’ Test Footage

Popeye was one of my mainstay cartoons growing up. It was funny and unique and I enjoyed it immensely. Looking back on it, it’s pretty cheesy and probably not really worth watching. But it still holds a special place in my heart.
  • Garfield and Friends (1988–1995)

Stories about either Garfield and Odie and the trouble they get into, or Orson the Pig and his adventures on a farm with fellow farm animals.
  • ‘Supergirl’ TV Series Coming to CBS

Supergirl is coming to CBS. The network has just landed the DC Comics adaptation, which is being executive produced by Greg Berlanti (Arrow) and Ali Adler (No Ordinary Family).
  • Supergirl (1984)

After losing a powerful orb, Kara, Superman’s cousin, comes to Earth to retrieve it and instead finds herself up against a wicked witch.
  • Smallville (2001–2011)

A young Clark Kent struggles to find his place in the world as he learns to harness his alien powers for good and deals with the typical troubles of teenage life in Smallville.
  • Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993–1997)

In addition to fighting evil, Superman has a burning romance with Lois Lane in both his identities.
  • A Few Upcoming Films

I enjoy trailers before films. It’s one of my favorite parts of the experience. Sometimes that experience lets me down, sometimes not. I would call my trailer experience tonight a little better than I was expecting.
  • Kill the Messenger

A reporter becomes the target of a vicious smear campaign that drives him to the point of suicide after he exposes the CIA’s role in arming Contra rebels in Nicaragua and importing cocaine
  • A Walk Among the Tombstones — IMDb

Private investigator Matthew Scudder is hired by a drug kingpin to find out who kidnapped and murdered his wife.
  • A Walk Among the Tombstones — Rotten Tomatoes

A Walk Among the Tombstones doesn’t entirely transcend its genre clichés, but it does offer Liam Neeson one of his more compelling roles in recent memory, and that’s often enough.
  • A Walk Among the Tombstones — Box Office Mojo

Domestic Total as of Sep. 22, 2014: $13,721,370 Distributor: UniversalRelease Date: September 19, 2014 Genre: DramaRuntime: 1 hrs. 54 min. MPAA Rating: RProduction Budget: $28 million
